Guide
Write social captions people actually read
The 5-line structure that makes anyone's caption sound like a copywriter's.
Line 1: hook (curiosity or bold claim)
Never start with a greeting or logo. Start with something that stops the thumb: 'I quit my job at Google to bake sourdough. Here's what I learned in year one.'
Line 2: promise or context
Tell them what they'll get from reading further. 'Below: the 3 tools that saved my business.'
Line 3 to 4: the actual content (with line breaks)
Break your paragraph into tiny lines. Social feeds are read on phones, walls of text kill readability. Even one sentence per line is fine.
Line 5: call to action
One question or one instruction. 'Have you tried this?' or 'Save this for your next launch.' Don't ask 3 questions, ask one specific one.
Emojis: one, maybe two
Emojis break up text and add a visual anchor. But 8 in a row looks amateur. One at the start of a section, or none at all, is the current professional standard.
Test 3 hooks per week
Same content, different opening lines. After 2 weeks, you'll see which hook style your audience clicks. Repeat that style, retire the others.
That’s the whole thing.
