Create a Facebook Business Page

Set up a Facebook Page from scratch, the right way, without mixing it into your personal profile.

  1. Create the Page from your personal profile

You need a personal Facebook account to create a Page (weird but true). Log in, click Pages → Create new Page. Your personal profile is invisible to Page visitors, they only see the Page.

  2. Pick the right category

Type your business type in the category field and pick the closest match (Restaurant, Photographer, Local Business). This changes what buttons and fields Facebook offers you, pick specifically.

  3. Upload a profile picture and cover photo

Profile pic: your logo, square, 170×170 minimum. Cover: a wide banner (820×312) showing your product/space/team. Never leave the default grey, it screams 'abandoned'.

  4. Fill in the About section fully

Complete every field: short description (155 chars), long description, hours, phone, website, address. Facebook uses this info in its own search AND syndicates it to Bing and other search engines.

  5. Add a 'Call to Action' button

At the top of your Page, click 'Add a button' → pick Book Now, Call, Message, Shop Now, or Sign Up. This is the primary conversion button, don't skip it.

  6. Invite friends (once, respectfully)

Use the 'Invite friends to like Page' feature ONE time. Getting 30–50 initial likes from real people helps Facebook trust the Page. Never spam group messages asking for likes, it's the fastest way to look amateur.

  7. Link to Instagram in Meta Business Suite

In business.facebook.com, connect your Facebook Page and Instagram Business account. Now you can post to both from one place, run ads across both, and read unified insights.

That’s the whole thing.
