Guide

Create a Meta Lead Ad (Instant Form)

Capture emails and phone numbers directly inside Facebook/Instagram, no landing page needed. Works for B2B (demos, consults) and B2C (waitlists, samples).

  1. Create a Leads campaign in Meta Ads Manager

Ads Manager > Create > Campaign objective: Leads. Meta will ask 'On your website, via messenger, or with Instant Forms?', pick Instant Forms. Set your daily budget ($10 to $20/day starter).

  2. Build the form (Ad level > Instant Form)

In the ad level, scroll to Instant Form > Create form. Pick 'More volume' (higher conversion, less qualified) or 'Higher intent' (adds a review step, filters accidental clicks). For B2B leads always pick Higher intent. For B2C samples/discounts, More volume is fine.

  3. Choose fields, keep it under 4

Meta pre-fills name, email, phone. Add MAX one custom question ('What's your budget range?', 'Company size?'). Every extra field drops conversion 10 to 15%. Resist qualifying heavily inside the form.

  4. Write the intro screen (this decides quality)

Intro screen: image + short headline + 2 to 3 bullet benefits + button label. Be clear about what happens next. 'Get a free 15-min consultation call within 24 hours' beats 'Learn more'. Vague intros attract accidental leads.

  5. Set up the thank-you screen with a clear next step

'Thanks! We'll email you within 24 hours. In the meantime, [book a call / read our guide / follow us on Instagram]'. Link to Calendly, a lead magnet, or your site. Warm leads often convert here.

  6. Add a Privacy Policy URL (required)

Meta won't let you publish without it. Generate a free one at termly.io or iubenda, host at yourdomain.com/privacy, paste the URL. Add a custom disclaimer if you're regulated (finance, legal, health).

  7. Test with 'Preview' before publishing

Preview button in form editor. Fill it out on your phone. Every field should feel obvious. Send yourself a test lead. Confirm it appears in Meta's Leads Center (business.facebook.com/leadscenter).

  8. Publish + download leads daily (or better, automate)

Leads accumulate in Leads Center. Download CSV daily OR set up CRM integration (see next guide). Speed to lead matters: leads called within 5 minutes are 21x more likely to convert than after 30 minutes.

That’s the whole thing.
