  1. Open Reports (Google Ads top nav)

Google Ads > Reports icon (bar chart, top right). Click 'Custom' > blank report. This is the report builder. Bookmark it, Google shifts menus constantly.

  2. Add the 5 columns that matter

Rows: Campaign. Columns: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, Cost, Conversions, Cost / conv. That's it. Date range: 'Last 7 days'. Save as 'Weekly Report'.

  3. Segment by device

Above the table > Segment > Device. Now you see mobile vs desktop per campaign. Almost always: mobile has lower conversion at higher cost. If a campaign loses money on mobile only, exclude mobile in settings, not the whole campaign.

  4. Save + schedule the report to email

In report view > Save > Schedule > Weekly, Monday 8am. Add your email + partner's. Google emails a PDF/CSV automatically. Lands in inbox before first coffee.

  5. Set alert triggers

Tools > Rules > Create rule. Common rule: 'If a campaign's cost > $200 this week AND conversions = 0, pause campaign and notify me'. Safety net for runaway campaigns.

  6. Also pull a Search Terms report monthly

Reports > Predefined > Search Terms. Shows actual phrases people typed. Add high-performing ones to your keywords, wasteful ones as negatives. Saves 20 to 40% of ad spend for most accounts.

  7. Optional , Looker Studio dashboard

For teams: Reports > Explore in Looker Studio. Builds a free live dashboard. Add Sheets/GA4 as data sources. Share link with team. Advanced but free.

That’s the whole thing.
