Use ChatGPT to speed up your SEO workflow
Where AI helps, where it hurts, and the prompts that actually save hours.
Use AI for outlines, not final drafts
Prompt: 'Give me a 7-section outline for a blog post targeting the keyword [X] for [audience]. Include H2 headings and 2 to 3 bullet points per section.' Then YOU write the actual copy.
Generate 20 title variations, pick 1
Prompt: 'Write 20 headline variations for this article: [paste outline]. Vary emotion, curiosity, benefit. Under 60 chars.' Then pick the best manually. Never publish AI's first pick.
Use AI for meta descriptions
Prompt: 'Write 5 meta description variations for this URL. Include the keyword [X], 150 chars max, active voice, one clear benefit.' Meta descriptions are low-risk to automate.
Ask AI to find keyword gaps
Prompt: 'Here's my article on [X]: [paste]. What subtopics or related questions am I missing that competitors likely cover?' Great for editorial improvement.
Never use AI to write about your own experience
'My story', founder pages, case studies, testimonials, these must be YOUR words. Google's E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trust) rewards first-person content.
Fact-check every specific claim
AI hallucinates statistics, dates, and citations. If ChatGPT says 'a 2023 study found X', assume it's wrong until you verify. One made-up stat can tank your credibility.
That’s the whole thing.
